Feroze Khan and Mawra Hocane were cast in the key roles when the movie was first officially announced in 2019, but it was announced in 2020 that they will not be a part of the movie. Instead, it turned out that Khan had been replaced by Ahsan Khan and Hocane had been replaced by Neelam Muneer. Danish Nawaz, Yasir Nawaz, and Jawed Sheikh will all play supporting characters. Principal photography for the movie commenced in Karachi in March 2020. The movie was finished on December 27, 2020.

The announcement for the release date of the film came via Yasir Nawaz’s Instagram.

The film is a murder mystery with numerous twists and turns. Zara and Mehreen, who are represented by Neelam Muneer as identical twin sisters, are the centre of the movie. Zara is a well-known actress, whilst Mehreen, who is married to Ahsan Khan’s character Kabir, leads a conventional daily life. Zara makes a proposal to Mehreen in the movie that they should trade places so that Mehreen might experience the glamorous life of a movie star.

“The film is a suspense thriller and a dark comedy, I would say,” Ahsan told Instep, adding that it is not funny but a ‘dark comedy. “I think this genre hasn’t been explored before, as far as I can think of films that have come out in the new age of cinema. It is a well-knitted, interesting film; I have gone through the script a couple of times and I like it.“

The song “Dil Haaray,” performed by Momina Mustehsan and Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan, earned excellent reviews and is regarded as one of the film’s strongest points. Watch the music video below.
