      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Pakistani sprinter Shajar Abbas has won a gold medal in the 100m race of the ongoing Qosanov Memorial Athletics Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The 22-year-old clocked 10.41 seconds in the sprint to clinch the gold medal.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Kazakhstan’s Vitaliy Zems finished second, crossing the finishing line in 10.47 seconds. Meanwhile, Thailand’s Bandit Chuangchai ending in 10.51 seconds, secured the bronze medal.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Earlier, Abbas also set the 100m national record by clocking an astonishing 10.38 seconds for the feat.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The record was previously held by Afzal Baig, who clocked 10.42 seconds during the 2005 Islamic Games.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The PSL sensation and Pakistan’s right-arm pacer Shahnawaz Dhani praised the sprinter, while calling him “The next big thing.”&lt;/p&gt;
