Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh of the Lahore High Court heard the petition of filed by Dua Zahra’s mother-in-law Noor Fatima and other in-laws. The Punjab police also presented the girl, who had appeared before the Sindh High Court two days earlier, in court as per order.

On Wednesday, the SHC ruled that Dua Zahra was free to live with whoever she wants before sending her to a shelter home. In an earlier hearing, the court had ordered a medical test to determine her age. The girl’s parents say she is 14 years old while the medical test said that it was between 16-17 years. Based on the medical report and the girl’s affidavit, the Sindh court dismissed it as inadmissible based on evidence.

The report regarding the recovery of the teen from Bahawalnagar in Punjab along with the SHC orders were also presented to the court.

The court reviewed the documents and ordered the police not to harass Dua Zehra’s mother-in-law and other in-laws.

The court also disposed of the harassment petition against the police. After the court proceedings, the police took Dua Zahra away from the Lahore High Court.

She was shifted to Lahore from Karachi Thursday (yesterday) to appear before the court.
