According to sources, fissures within the PML-Q had come out in the open after the two prominent leaders in the PML-Q were found divided over political issues.

The sources said that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Salik Hussain have openly sided with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), while Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Moonis Elahi and Chaudhry Hussain Elahi will remain allies of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Sources claimed that the party leaders parted their ways due to the escalation of family differences on political matters.

It is for the first time that the two elders of the family have acknowledged their separate political paths, with two out of three MNAs in the house being PTI supporters.

The final decision is expected soon after Hussain Elahi, who is abroad, will return to the country.
