Imran Khan granted transit bail in multiple cases till June 25

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court has approved transit bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan till June 25 against surety bonds worth Rs50,000.

PHC Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan heard the case on Thursday.

At least 14 cases were registered against the PTI chief in various police stations during the long march on May 25.

Khan’s lawyer, Babar Awan, argued that all the first information reports registered against the PTI chief stated “on behest of Imran Khan” therefore, the court should grant him bail.

Justice Rashid accepted the plea and granted Khan bail for three weeks. He remarked that in case of any issue related to the case, Khan could visit the court.

As the hearing of the case ends, the PHC CJ asked Khan not to address the media on court premises.

The PTI chief said: “Rest assured sir.”
