He was addressing participants of a social media conference in Peshawar.

Once the court announces its decision, Khan said he would announce the new date of the protest. On May 25, he had given the government six days to announce the date for early elections and dissolution of assemblies.

“We will march towards Islamabad with better planning this time,” he said. The party leadership thought the Supreme Court had announced a ruling when we had started the long march to the federal capital on May 24, he continued.

“We had assumed that the roads would be cleared and the arrested party workers would be released,” he added.

However, he said, the government did not bother to implement orders of the court. “We did not expect that.”

The party won’t repeat the same mistakes again and “we will fully prepare for the march this time,” he added.

He acknowledged efforts of the party workers who marched towards Islamabad and sustained injuries during the crackdown.
