Singer Abrarul Haq gets credit for his song in Karan Johar’s movie

Pakistani singer Abrarul Haq has finally got credit for his hit 2002 Punjabi song Nach Punjaban in Indian producer Karan Johar’s upcoming multi-starrer film ‘JugJugg Jeeyo’.

“Original song credits: Nach Punjaban by Abrar Ul Haq from the album Nach Punjaban. Courtesy of Moviebox (Birmingham) Limited,” read the description of the song on Indian music company T-Series YouTube channel.

The development comes after the singer’s protest over the use of his song without his apparent permission. “I have not sold my song ‘Nach Punjaban’ to any Indian movie and reserve the rights to go to court to claim damages. Producers like Karan Johar should not use copy songs,” Abrar said in a tweet post on May 22 after the movie trailer was out with the background music of the song.

This is Abrar’s sixth song being copied, according to the Billo singer.

JugJugg Jeeyo, which will be released on June 24 in Indian cinemas, stars Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Maniesh Paul, and Prajakta Koli in leading roles.

The trailer showed that the movie is about family relations.
