Tonnes of fish appeared along the shores of Karachi on Tuesday due to marine pollution, making it a lucky day for the local fishermen who got the opportunity to catch fish worth millions of rupees.

The fish identified as ‘mullets,’ locally known as ‘Boi,’ washed up on shores in Gizri, Kemari and Shireen Jinnah Colony.

According to the WWF technical advisor, the fish washed ashore due to red tide marine pollution.

This is not the first case of lots of fish appearing on the shores of Karachi. Business Recorder reported in March that dead fish surfaced near the report of Karachi, which was linked to depleted oxygen levels and an increase in toxins.
