Raj with a collaborative alliance with architects produced many iconic architectural projects, including Hall of Nations, the Akbar Hotel and NCDC Office building in New Delhi, the Hindon River Mills in Ghaziabad, the Salarjung Museum in Hyderabad, the Municipal Stadium and Tagore Memorial Theatre in Ahmedabad and the Indoor Sports Stadium in Srinagar.

He partnered with renowned architectures, including Charles Correa, Raj Rewal, BV Doshi and Kuldeep Singh, to construct marvelous buildings, according to an article in Architectural Design India, a website that provides updates on architecture, design and craftsmanship.

Raj was born in Lahore. After completing his civil engineering from Lahore in 1946, he joined the Punjab Works Department Buildings and Roads and rose to the rank of an executive engineer, working on Le Corbusier’s buildings in Chandigarh, according to the report.
