Shad Rahay Pakistan was composed in connection with 23rd March and according to the YouTube description it “encompasses the national aspiration to always see Pakistan’s flag fluttering high. It reverberates a prayer that the country may flourish for all times to come.”

Sung by Shuja Haider and Yashal Shahid and directed by Yasir Jaswal, the anthem speaks about the resolve to keep Pakistan peaceful and on the bright path of progress.

The music video features mesmerising drone shots of some of Pakistan’s historic locations along with the diverse landscapes the country has to offer. The song successfully evoked a sense of patriotism in many social media users.

“Long live Pakistan,” said one user.

While others had more hilarious responses.

“DG ISPR or DJ ISPR?” asked one person.

“Top producer back at it,” said another one.

One Twitter user related the current political situation of the country to the song and said, “Seems impossible in the presence of Fazlur Rehman Diesel.”

Some people weren’t impressed with ISPR’s efforts at all.

Pakistan Day is celebrated on 23rd March to commemorate the Lahore Resolution which provided the framework for a distinct homeland comprising a Muslim-majority state in South Asia.
