Usman Khawaja unhappy with fans who cheered when he was declared out

Pakistan-born Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja has expressed his displeasure over the celebration of the crowd on his dismissal in the first innings of the Rawalpindi test against Pakistan.

In a video posted by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Monday, he thanked the crowd of the twin cities for supporting and turning out in the stadium in big numbers. He said the crowd was good and the whole Australian team was enjoying their tour here, however, he said: “When I was declared out by the DRS, you shouted so much. I was shocked and I did not like it.”

His comments drew laughter from the Pakistani cricketers standing next to him before the match. He asked his fans not to celebrate so much on his dismissal next time and then thanked them for everything.

The left-handed batter, who made a comeback in the Ashes test series last year, was three runs short of 100 when he was declared out in a DRS review from Pakistan. Khawaja tried to play reverse sweep shot on spinner Nauman Ali's delivery but the ball turned a bit and nudged his gloves and landed in the hands of fielder Imamul Haq.

In the same video, Australian middle-order batsman Marnus Labuschagne pronounces his name so people can say it properly.

Labuschagne pronounced it four times after a few people in the crowd lifted placards with questions, “Hey Marnus! How do I pronounce your last name? The video on cricket.com.au did not help!”

But there was another user who tried to spell it.

The fourth day of the test match was reduced from five to three sessions due to wet ground after Rawalpindi received a downpour the other night.

Players of both the teams could be seen sharing a light moment as they practice and had conversations with each other.

Pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi was also seen apologising to Mitchell Marsh apparently for bowling a yorker delivery to him during the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup in Dubai last year that Aussies won by five wickets and six balls left.
