Bilawal issues 24-hour ultimatum to PM Imran to quit

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Prime Minister Imran Khan to dissolve the assemblies and conduct "free and fair elections" as the opposition party marches towards Islamabad to dislodge the government.

"Mr PM, you have 24 hours to dissolve assemblies and go home. If you have the strength to dissolve assemblies before we arrive in Islamabad... If you have believe in this crowd, then conduct free and fair elections... You will get to know the public's response," he said while addressing a gathering in Gujrat.

The PPP chairman claimed that the whole country was united against the premier and on the opposition's no-confidence motion.

Bilawal reiterated his onslaught against the government's IMF deal, alleging that such an agreement was the reason for the spike in electricity tariffs and basic commodities prices. He demanded of the government to conduct elections and alleged the incumbent premier has been brought by an "umpire" in a reference to the country's all-powerful Establishment.

He claimed that the PM Imran was panicking, which was reflected in the derogatory remarks he was using against the opposition leadership.

The PPP chairman claimed that his party had steered the country "out of the crisis" during their rule. He accused the government of providing relief to the rich instead of the poor.
