Fawad’s quip and cricketing metaphor came amid the PPP’s cavalcade marching towards Islamabad to oust the government while the opposition alliance scale up efforts and woo government allies for support on the no-confidence motion against the premier in parliament.

PDM chief Fazlur Rehman on Thursday said that the multi-party alliance has completed the numbers to bring a no-confidence move.

Revival of series with India

In addition to this, the information minister called for the revival of bilateral cricket series and people-to-people contact with India

“We want Indian cricket team to come to Pakistan and exciting matches should be held here and rather than making efforts to stop cricket in Pakistan we should support Pakistan and India cricket,” Fawad said, adding that both the countries “should move forward” to enhance cooperation in the areas of films and music.

He also criticised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the prevailing situation in the neighbouring country. “Around 65% of the Indians have not voted for Modi,” he said, “There are people in India who are calling for peace.”

Fawad also added that Sindh Governor Imran Ismail would meet PM Imran Khan on Friday (today). “Inshallah PM Imran will come to see the match, maybe today or tomorrow.”
