      <title>Re-polling in KP’s 13 districts ends; counting of votes under way

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Re-polling for local government elections in 13 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ended on Sunday and the counting of votes has been started, &lt;em&gt;Aaj News&lt;/em&gt; reported. The provincial government has made strict security arrangements in order to deal with any uncertain situation.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The polling began at 8am and continued until 5pm without any pause. According to the provincial election commission, re-voting is being conducted in the 13 provincial districts, which include Peshawar, Nowshera, Khyber, Mohmand, Mardan, Kohat, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Buner, Bajaur, and Charsadda.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Re-polling is being held on various seats of local councils where elections were terminated either because of the deteriorated situation on the polling day or death of the contesting candidates during the first phase of local bodies polls, as per Radio Pakistan.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Moreover, the polling started at 9:30am at the Baka Khel polling station of Bannu district that would continue till 5:30pm.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The commission further added that as many as 710,472 voters – including 362, 924 men and 347,548 women – would exercise their right to vote in the election.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It added that around 12,913 voters would exercise their right to vote in three neighbourhood councils of Peshawar. Moreover, 9,322 voters – including 4,864 men and 4,458 women – is the number of voters in five polling stations of 22 Qadirabad of the neighbourhood council. The data showed 1,970 voters were in NC Afridi Garhi, 1,621 women voters in NC Khyber women polling station. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It is pertinent to mention that PTI’s Umer Amin Gandapur, PPP’s Faisal Karim Kundi, and JUI’s Kafil Nizami were contesting for the coveted seat of the city mayor in DI Khan. As many as 335,718 voters – including 181,992 men and 153,726 women – would exercise their right to vote in DI Khan.&lt;/p&gt;
