"President on the advice of the Prime Minister has been pleased to appoint Brigadier (Retd) Musaddiq Abbasi the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Accountability," read the notification issued in this regard.

Brigadier (Retd) Abbasi had performed duties on top positions of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Earlier on Monday, SAPM on Accountability Shahzad Akbar resigned from his post.

Akbar, in a tweet, said that he had tendered his resignation to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
