The Supreme Court on Monday called for a criminal and institutional investigation against the officials involved in the approval of the 15-storey Nasla Tower's building plan, reported Aaj News.

The apex court announced its decision while hearing the case pertaining to the demolition of the illegally constructed Nasla Tower building. Officials presented the report related to the building before the court.

The SC also ordered the seizure of the 780 square yards of the land on which the building was constructed and directed the Sindh High Court's official assignee to stop its sale.

The top court further ordered that the anti-corruption department should register a case against the officials who approved the building plan and conduct an investigation.

The court has ordered the police to register separate cases against each of the officials involved and called for the submission of an investigation report before the court in the next hearing of the case.

Moreover, it ordered the DIG East to submit the investigation report to the court.
