PEMRA directs TV channels to display Pakistan's map before 9 pm bulletin

ISLAMABAD: The government has directed all TV channels to show Pakistan's map before airing the 9pm news bulletin.

According to Geo News Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has issued a notification in this regard.

“All the news channels (both public and private) have to flash the political map of Pakistan for 02 seconds before airing the news bulletin at 09:00 pm on regular basis,” reads the notification.

It is pertinent to note that earlier in August, PM Imran Khan in a Cabinet meeting had announced the approval of a new political map of Pakistan, which included Indian-occupied Kashmir in its entirety.

“The cabinet has approved the map,” Khan said while speaking during a live televised address to the nation, adding that the Kashmiri and national leadership had also green-signalled it.
