      <title>Must meet vaccination targets to avoid 5th wave of Covid: Asad Umar

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Minister for Planning Asad Umar tweeted Thursday about the importance of meeting  vaccination targets to avoid the fifth wave of COVID-19.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;In his tweet he said people will remain vulnerable if they are unvaccinated, irrespective of the decline in cases.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The second dose is vital for protection against COVID-19, he said. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;He said best vaccination progress was in places like Islamabad, Peshawar, Gilgit and Mirpur while the progress is good in Skardu, Charsadda and Sargodha.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;However, the following places needed improvement: Hyderabad, Nowshera, Faisalabad, Quetta, Karachi, Mingora and Mardan.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;For the sixth day in a row, Pakistan reported under 1,000 cases of Covid in a day. According to data by NCOC, the breakdown of cases and deaths by province are as follows:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Sindh: 318 cases, 2 deaths
Punjab: 162 cases, 8 deaths
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 94 cases, 5 deaths
Islamabad: 28 cases, 1 death
Balochistan: 11 cases
Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 5 cases
Gilgit-Baltistan: 4 cases&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;In related news, the NCOC tweeted the latest vaccine statistics showing 753,557 people had been vaccinated thus far on October 20. &lt;/p&gt;
