"May Allah help and support Imran Khan and PTI," said Husain in the message without briefing the reason of leaving the position.

However, this is not the first time the PTI leader has announced his resignation from the post.

Last year in July, the ruling party's MNA said in a tweet he would present his resignation to the prime minister as he was unable to provide power supply to people of Karachi.

"I admit that I am ony an MNA of Karachi. I can't see people of my constituency suffering from the issue of power supply," he said. Husain mentioned Moonis Abdullah Alvi, K-Electric's CEO, in his tweet saying he can't bear lies of the power supply company's chief.

"I have asked time from the prime minister for meeting and I will present my resignation to him," he added.

However, in a meeting with the prime minister after a few days, Husain in another tweet said the premier rejected his 4-page long resignation.

"The prime minister appreciated my stance on raising voice over issues of Karachi and he said this should be attitude of an elected representative who understands politics and feels problems of people," the PTI leader said in the message.
