On September 1, young adults 17 and above were allowed to get the Covid vaccine. They would need to be fully vaccinated if they were to enter schools and colleges.

Earlier in the day, NCOC also tweeted that 961,340 people had so far been vaccinated across the country. It also added a warning that those who had not received the vaccinations by October 1 would face serious consequences

For people below 18 years of age, the government said they could use a Child Registration Certificate (B-Form) number for the registration in the National Immunisation Management System.

Are vaccines safe for children?

The US' Centre for Disease Control and Prevention has said vaccines are safe and effective,

"CDC recommends everyone 12 years and older should get a COVID-19 vaccination to help protect against COVID-19. Widespread vaccination is a critical tool to help stop the pandemic. People who are fully vaccinated can resume activities that they did prior to the pandemic," they wrote.
