According to the ISPR, the leader, named Safiullah, hailed from Mir Ali town of N Waziristan, was involved in the murder of four women in February 2021 who belonged to a non-governmental organisation. He was also a part of November 2020 target killing of Frontier Works Organisation engineers, said the ISPR.

The military’s media wing further said the TTP commander was involved in attacks on security forces using land mines, kidnapping for ransom and extortion.

During the operation, the security forces also recovered explosives and arms, according to the report.
