      <title>Three-member committee to probe assault at Minar-e-Pakistan

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Punjab IGP constituted a three-member inquiry committee to probe the incident in which a woman was assaulted, manhandled and groped on Independence Day near Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;So far the police have identified 11 suspects, while the footage from the event was sent to the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) for the identification of the culprits, reported Dawn.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;An FIR had been registered against 400 unidentified people on the complaint of the woman on Tuesday, however, so far no accused was arrested.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;In a tweet, IGP Inam Ghan assured the nation that those who were responsible for the sad and tragic incident would be punished.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Talking to Aaj News, Punjab government Spokesperson Fayazul Hassan Chohan said the culprits would be punished for the heinous crime.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, Chohan said he had contacted the victim over phone and assured her of complete cooperation by the Punjab government.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Condemning the incident, opposition leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif tweeted, "The recent anti-women incidents are a reminder that malaise is deep-rooted."&lt;/p&gt;
