Pakistan recorded more than 80 Covid fatalities in the past 24 hours for the second consecutive day, according to the data released by the National Command and Operation Centre on Wednesday.

A day ago the country crossed 24,000 deaths due to the infection.

The Covid positivity rate was 7.50 per cent.

Out of the 64,690 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, 4,856 people tested positive for the coronavirus.

A slight decrease was recorded in the positive cases a day ago. It was reported that the total number of tests conducted on the day were under 50,000 which could be a reason for decline in the infected cases.

So far more than 11 million people have been fully vaccinated against the virus, while at least 39 million people have received first doze of the vaccine.
