      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Prime Minister Imran Khan's candidate  Abdul Qayyum Niazi was elected the 13th Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;He received 33 votes compared to  15 votes of Chaudhry Lateef Akbar the opposition parties PPP and PML-N's joint candidate.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Niazi was in the running and had been interviewed as one of the candidates along with  Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Barrister Sultan Mehmood, Khawaja Farooq and Azhar Sadiq.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Niazi is also the central joint secretary of the PTI.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry tweeted that Khan made the decision after "considerable consultations and suggestions". &lt;/p&gt;
