The Sindh Health Department told Dawn on Monday that it would vaccinate people without a computerised national identity card (CNIC).

According to report, the health department said people will have to show their B-forms or their educational documents to get themselves vaccinated.

The report quoted Sindh Health Department’s media coordinator, Mehar Khursheed, as saying "citizens can get their biometrics done at the vaccination centre and register the cell phone number they are currently using."

This allows the government to track how many people are vaccinated.

Dawn reported that more than 2,000 citizens in Karachi have already been administered the coronavirus vaccine without having to show their CNICs.

Sindh cases of coronavirus

As many as 36 more patients died of Covid taking the death toll to 6,057.

CM Sindh said 1,847 tested positive of the 13,107 tests that were conducted on Monday.

According to him, 5,039,917 tests have been conducted against which 387,145 cases were positive.
