Pakistan will expedite efforts to find the perpetrators responsible for the Dasu bus attack, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed told his Chinese counterpart Zhao Kezhi. in a phone call. He also offered his condolences to the families of the 9 Chinese men who died in the incident.

Pakistan and China agreed to complete the investigation "as soon as possible" Rasheed said.

The interior minister tweeted this information.

13 people died when a bus crashed into a ravine near the Dasu hydropower plant. Pakistan initially said the cause was the result of a mechanical failure but then said it could not rule terrorism out.

Sheikh's call is the second high level call between Pakistani and Chinese officials. Earlier Prime Minister Imran Khan assured his counterpart Li Keqiang that Pakistan would investigate this at their earliest.

Keqiang described the incident as a terrorist attack in his call with Khan.

In a press briefing in Beijing, the foreign ministry said they were sending investigators to assist Pakistan into the inquiry. “Today China will send a cross-departmental joint working group to Pakistan to help with relevant work,” Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian had said at a media briefing in Beijing.

On Friday, a Chinese journalist Shen Shiwei tweeted a video of the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan visiting the site of the Dasu bus blast.
