People took to social media to share scenes from various neighborhoods as well as the inconveniences it brought with it.

Last week, Karachi Met Director Sardar Sarfaraz predicted rain was expected in the city to take place from July 15 – 17. He estimated somewhere between 10-22 mm of rain during the first spell.

It is likely to rain throughout the next few days with it becoming more intense Wednesday onward, according to a meteorologist on Monday.

Power outages

Within moments of rain many people across the city said they experienced power outages. Karachi Electric tweeted they were monitoring the situation.
