      <title>Punjab/ Covid: Daily positivity rate drops to 0.7%

      <description>&lt;p&gt;LAHORE: Of late, Punjab has seen a remarkable dip in the Covid positivity rate. As per the &lt;a href="https://twitter.com/PSHDept?s=09"&gt;daily reports &lt;/a&gt; shared by Punjab's Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Sarah Aslam,  in the past 24 hours, &lt;strong&gt;18,528&lt;/strong&gt; people were sampled for novel coronavirus infection out of which only &lt;strong&gt;141&lt;/strong&gt; tested positive. It meant that the daily positivity rate remained &lt;strong&gt;0.7%&lt;/strong&gt;. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;According to the daily update, yesterday, &lt;strong&gt;8&lt;/strong&gt; people succumbed to Covid-19 in the province while &lt;strong&gt;202&lt;/strong&gt; recovered from the deadly infection. Currently, there are &lt;strong&gt;8,844&lt;/strong&gt; active Covid patients present in the region.  &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;As of today, Punjab's Covid-19 statistics look like this: &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;• Total number of coronavirus tests that have been conducted has exceeded &lt;strong&gt;5.60 million&lt;/strong&gt;.   &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;• Total cases have reached &lt;strong&gt;346,036&lt;/strong&gt;.    &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;• At least &lt;strong&gt;10,740&lt;/strong&gt; patients have succumbed to the deadly flu bug.    &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;• The number of recoveries currently stands at &lt;strong&gt;326,669&lt;/strong&gt;. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The government of Punjab has amped up the Covid vaccination drive in the past week or so. 
Currently, there are 669 vaccination centers fully functioning across the province. In the last 24 hours, Punjab vaccinated &lt;strong&gt;205,737&lt;/strong&gt; citizens making it the third consecutive day when over 200k people were immunized in the province. To date, the tally of Punjabis at least partially vaccinated against the viral infection has reached &lt;strong&gt;8,200,136&lt;/strong&gt;.   &lt;/p&gt;
