PESHAWAR: Like most of the regions of Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has seen the number of daily coronavirus infections dropped considerably in the past month. This welcoming trend has prompted the resumption of economic and academic activities across the province.

In the past 24 hours, less than 100 new cases were reported in KP for the first time since the beginning of the third wave in March-April. Also, the daily positivity rate dipped below 1% for the first time during the third wave. These statistics were shared by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's health and finance minister Taimur Khan Jhagra today.

A few hours earlier, the young ministers took to the popular social media platform Twitter to give updates regarding the current COVID-19 situation of the province. He wrote that the positivity rate has dropped to 0.8% and new cases to 72. Also, there is a significant reduction in hospitalized patients. Furthermore, Jhagra reported that only one district has a positivity rate greater than 5% and that is Kohat.

Urging the people to get themselves registered for Covid vaccines and getting themselves immunized at the earliest he wrote that as vaccine stocks are replenished, it's time to vaccinate.
