According to statistics shared by National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the country's nerve center for unified efforts against coronavirus, 35,695 coronavirus tests were taken countrywide, of which only 1,194 came out positive.

There are currently 2,841 critical patients of COVID-19 admitted to different hospitals in the country, however, no new case of severe infection was reported. The reported national positivity rate is 3.34%.

With these latest statistics, the country's total number of confirmed active cases stands at 42,717. Pakistan has so far recorded 939,931 confirmed cases, 21,633 deaths, and a total of 875,581 recoveries from the novel disease.

As per the numbers shared by the Ministry of National Health Service, 93.2% of the total confirmed cases have recovered while the mortality rate is 2.3%.

Currently, most active cases are reported in Sindh (23,457) followed by Punjab (11,802), and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (3,546). There are currently 2,156 active cases in Islamabad, 582 in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, 1,071 in Balochistan, and 102 in Gilgit Baltistan.

Vaccination update:

According to the latest numbers shared by the NCOC, Pakistan has so far administered 10,496,228 vaccine doses. 2,540,238 people are fully vaccinated while 4,741,579 have received at least one dose.

Federal govt. allots $1.1 billion for importing Covid vaccines:

The PTI-led federal government Friday has approved to allocate $1.1 billion for importing the COVID-19 vaccine besides providing funding for local production of anti-COVID vaccine. The announcement was made by Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin during the budget 2021-22 session. He said it is estimated that over one hundred million people will be vaccinated by June next year.
