      <title>NEC approves development budget of Rs2.1tr for next fiscal year

      <description>&lt;p&gt;National Economic Council (NEC) on Monday has approved the total development outlay of 2100 billion rupees fiscal year 2021-2022, &lt;a href="https://radio.gov.pk/08-06-2021/nec-approves-development-outlay-of-rs21tr-for-next-financial-year"&gt;Radio Pakistan&lt;/a&gt; reported.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The forum met in Islamabad and was presided by Prime Minister Imran Khan. During the meeting, the forum approved the Macroeconomic Framework for Annual Plan 2021-22.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth projections for the financial year 2021-22 including the proposed growth target of 4.8 percent was also approved. The council also approved the set growth target of 3.5 percent for the agriculture sector, 6.5 for the industrial sector, and 4.8 for the services sector.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;NEC was briefed that with the operationalization of the Public-Private Partnership Authority, a number of projects are also being expeditiously processed for implementation. These include Sukur-Hyderabad Motorway and Sialkot-Kharian Motorway, which are at an advanced stage, Radio Pakistan reported.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Addressing the meeting the Prime Minister asked the forum to increase the pace of development projects to ensure that the gains made through stabilization of the economy could be translated into economic growth resulting in the well-being of the people.&lt;/p&gt;
