      <title>FIA arrests former PIA Director Engineering in mega corruption case

      <description>&lt;p&gt;KARACHI: Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) on Monday arrested Former Director Engineering of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Maqsood Ahmed.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The arrest is part of an enquiry initiated by FIA Corporate Crime Circle to investigate Rs1.5 billion corruption in the airline. According to the FIA, the Corporate Crime Circle has also registered a case against the accused.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The investigation was about illegal agreements to improve class B, the agreements caused loss of Rs1.5 billion to the national exchequer.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;According to the officials advance payments were made for upgradation of business class seats and entertainment system in years 2014-16, &lt;/p&gt;
