Quetta blast: India doesn't want peace in Pakistan, says Sheikh Rasheed

Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed on Thursday has said that India does not want to see Pakistan peaceful and prosperous, but their attempts to create unrest in the country will be futile, reported local media.

The statement came after a blast in the safest area of Quetta on Wednesday that took at least five lives, leaving 12 injured.

The interior minister said that the blast indicates a breach in the security as the vehicle somehow managed to enter the hotel:

"There must be some breach in security and that is why an explosive-laden car was able to enter.”

The federal minister added that anti-Pakistan elements want to damage the country's peace. However, these elements will be dealt with an iron fist, he added.

While commenting on the law and order situation in the country, Rasheed said that there were threats for such an attack in Quetta, Peshawar, Karachi, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi.

Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong, who was staying at the same hotel, was not present at the time of the blast, he added. “He was attending a function at another place in the city.”

The minister has also sought a report from the Balochistan Chief Secretary over the tragic incident.
