President Dr Arif Alvi and his wife, Samina Alvi, on Monday, received the first jab of vaccine against COVID-19 at a vaccination centre in the federal capital's Tarlai area.

President Alvi, while speaking to the media after being vaccinated, said that a trend has been reported worldwide that elite are taking advantage of their privilege and getting vaccinated out of turn, but that has not happened in Pakistan.

"I registered myself by sending a message on 1166 and received the details of the vaccination centre via text yesterday." the president said.

Source: Twitter

President Alvi appreciated the government's efforts to develop a "simpler and better vaccination system" across Pakistan.

He also advised the nation to continue ahead with caution despite receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. "Please continue wearing masks, wash your hands, and keep your distance in view of the third wave of the coronavirus," he stated.
