Covid: 2,184 cases and 82 deaths reported in the past 24 hours

In Pakistan, the first case of novel coronavirus infection was confirmed on the 26th of February. After successfully negotiating with the first wave of Covid, the country has been seeing the second wave of the viral disease for the past couple of months. This wave is proving to be way deadlier than the first one.

2,264 coronavirus patients are in critical condition in the country.

With 2,184 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, the national tally has reached 484,362. Total coronavirus-related casualties currently stand at 10,258 as 82 deaths were added to the tally in the last 24 hours. There are at least 35,130 active cases of Covid-19 present in the country.

The health experts believe that it will take several weeks for Pakistan to flatten the curve again as the country is more or less opened entirely following the government's policy of "living with the virus" by adopting the Covid SOPs.

Among the provinces, Sindh with 216,632 cases has the most number of reported cases. Punjab is second with 139,341 cases. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 59,023 cases, Islamabad with 38,020 cases, and Balochistan with 18,181 cases are third, fourth, and fifth worst-hit regions of the country. While Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan with 8,303 and 4,862 confirmed Covid-19 cases are the least affected regions.
