Muslims in Pakistan today are celebrating Eid-Milad-un-Nabi with great religious zeal and zest across the country. Mosques, buildings, markets, and residential buildings have been illuminated with beautiful lights and decorated with flags.

The day began with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and a 21-gun salute in all the provincial capitals to celebrate the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awal, the day Prophet Muhammad PBUH was born, while special prayers for the unity, progress, and prosperity of the country and Muslim Umma were also offered in the mosques after Fajr prayers.

Rallies, processions, seminars, conferences, and Mehafil-e-Milad will be organized throughout the day as a humble gesture of love and respect for the Prophet PBUH.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi, in their messages for Milad-un-Nabi, reaffirmed their commitment to follow the teachings of Prophet PBUP and to ensure the sanctity of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and desist from blasphemy. Khan, in his message, said:

"Teachings of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) are forbearance, patience and
tolerance must be disseminated to promote peace, tranquillity and
 interfaith harmony across the world.”

President Alvi, while pointing towards the recent anti-Islamic tirade in France, said:

"Such incidents, created disintegration and also violated the spirit
 of interfaith harmony and dialogue.”

Both the prime minister and the president will attend the International Rehmatul Lil Aalameen Conference scheduled in Islamabad and conducted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.
