The Aman Foundation, inline with its vision of a healthy Pakistan, has joined hands with a healthcare startup – MyDoctor.pk (now oladoc.com) to bridge the many gaps in the Pakistani Healthcare Ecosystem.

As part of the collaboration, The Aman Foundation and MyDoctor.pk (now oladoc.com) will work together to digitize the healthcare facilities in Sindh through its proprietary Hospital/Clinic/Practice Management services. In addition, the Aman TeleHealth services; offering free of cost consultations, advice and diagnosis for the most common illnesses over phone, will now also be available through MyDoctor.pk (now oladoc.com).

In a country where 80 percent of healthcare spending is self-financed, healthcare is a luxury few can afford. Aman TeleHealth aims to narrow this gap by offering consultations, advice and triage for the most common illnesses over the phone.

As an extension of this partnership, Aman TeleHealth services will now be integrated with MyDoctor.pk online appointment booking services – thus, helping patients to reach the RIGHT PMDC Verified Doctors that are ideally suited to patients based on their healthcare needs & proximity requirements.

Using MyDoctor.pk (now oladoc.com) website/app, a consumer can:
i. Search Doctors & Book Appointments with more than 14,000 PMDC Verified Healthcare Professionals

ii. Connect to a Doctor for FREE 24/7 & get instant medical advice regarding most common illnesses over the phone

iii. Buy Medicines& get authentic & reliable medicines deliver to your door-step without any hassle

iv. Order Home Sample Collection& get Lab tests done from the comfort of your home

v. Maintain complete medical records & history of themselves & family members – all in one place.

vi. Connect with doctors online via video consultations (soon to be launched!)

Speaking on Good Morning Aaj, the Co-Founder& CEO of MyDoctor.pk (now oladoc.com), Abid Zuberi said, “MyDoctor.pk relentlessly continues to evolve its proposition of resolving all issues/challenges faced by a consumer in patient life-cycle journey, with a mission to become THE-GO-TO Healthcare portal for all patient needs.

Our commitment is to provide easy access of quality healthcare services and we will continue to evolve according to consumer needs’’.

In a short span of time, the platform has grown into a leading healthcare service provider forging partnerships with some of the biggest players in the industry including Chughtai Lab, ServAid, The Aman Foundation & FonePay.

Speaking on the importance of their collaborations, Abid said that only 0.5% of GDP spend in Pakistan goes into healthcare, which is the lowest amongst South Asian countries. In order to address the mammoth scale of the problem in Pakistan, it is imperative for the leading players in health segment collaborate& work together to address these challenges.

In a country where healthcare is mainly administered in the private sector with Outpatient visits accounting for almost 80% of health spend; there is a dearth need of health-tech initiatives to bridge the gaps in the severely underfunded Healthcare eco-system.

Technology has played a major role in easing the transportation needs of millions of Pakistani's with tech companies such as Uber & Careem changing the transportation landscape within a couple of years. Whether, we'd get to see more of the same in Healthcare with organizations such as MyDoctor.pk (now oladoc.com), only time will tell.

However, what is for certain is that initiatives such as these can go a long way in making healthcare simpler & more accessible for the masses in Pakistan. — Press Release
