PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif inaugurated Lowari Tunnel in Upper Dir on Thursday afternoon.

The tunnel between Dir and Chitral has been completed at a cost of about twenty-seven billion rupees.

The Prime Minister was informed that under the project, two tunnels having a length of ten point five kilometers have been completed.

Besides, thirty-five kilometers long approach roads have also been constructed from both sides along with twelve bridges.

Addressing a public meeting on this occasion, the Prime Minister said his government has launched development projects all over the country to improve the socio-economic condition of the people.

He said work on a number of power projects is in progress to overcome load-shedding. He said that Golen Gol Hydropower Project in Chitral will be completed soon.

Nawaz Sharif announced establishment of a Women University in Chitral.

He said Chitral will be developed like Karachi and Lahore.

The Prime Minister announced that besides construction of Hazara Motorway, Chakdara-Chitral Road will be constructed on the patron of motorway.

He said that those who took vote from the people in the name of change in Pakistan badly failed to introduce changes even in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said positive changes are being introduced in the country by PML-N.

The tunnel has reduced travelling time between Peshawar and Chitral from fourteen to seven hours.

The Prime Minister said he has not been involved in any sort of corruption. Rather, he has saved one hundred and sixty-eight billion rupees in various development projects.

He said people of the country will not accept this accountability, which is, in fact, exploitation.

He said the leadership of PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek created hurdles in the process of developing by staging sit-in, and people rejected them in elections.

He hoped that these elements will also be defeated in the next elections.—Radio Pakistan
