&lt;p&gt;Ketchup is a traditional sauce of every table of any country. It often serves with French fries, pakoras, sandwiches, barbeque, burgers and with several daily meals.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It is low calorie condiment, contains vitamin A and C and no fats, But it does not mean to squeeze bottles of ketchup on your plate because it has some dangerous effects on your health.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Ketchups basically include tomatoes, water and sugar and some harmful ingredients like high fructose corn syrup, natural flavoring and tomato concentrate. Onion powder and natural flavoring are a small percentage of the overall content.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The tomatoes are overcooked which removes its vitamins and minerals. HFCS has higher amount of fructose, fructose tells our brain that we are hungry, thatâ€™s mean the more we eat, the more we want to eat. And it is extremely dangerous.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Moreover, per tablespoon of sugar contains 4 grams of sugar, and consuming more than a tablespoon of ketchup at a time, quickly builds up your sugar rate and exceeds your maximum daily fructose limit (25gm or less). Note that almost every food item contains high amount of sugars.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Therefore, homemade ketchups are highly encouraged here which are safe to have with your meal specially, with less sugar and no HFCS.&lt;/p&gt;
