WEB DESK: The voice behind superhit songs such as, 'Kabira' from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, 'Namak Ishq ka' from Omkara, 'Genda Phool' from Dehli 6 and many more, recently praised Pakistani music industry and its 'Coke Studio', saying that it is way ahead of Indian Coke Studio.

She also lent her vocals to the Bin Roye track, 'Chan Chariya' last year, and it turns out her interaction with the Pakistani film industry left her with a very favourable impression of its music too.

In an interview with The Hindu, she referred to her experience as "an exchange programme."

"They have immensely talented artists like Atif Aslam and Ghulam Ali sahib. There is not a lot of difference between our and their industry apart from the type of music that is being composed," Rekha said.

"Their Coke Studio is way ahead of ours. They don’t kill their verses by sound and keep the essence of their songs alive. They bring their folk music and ghazals together and embellish it beautifully."
