HYDERABAD: The central leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N)  Sardar Mumtaz Ali Bhutto has said that drought in Tharparkar has exposed the wrong policies, administrative incompetency and corruption of Sindh Government.

He demanded high level enquiry into the matter and strict action against those found responsible for this situation.

Addressing a news conference here at circuit house on Tuesday, he said that the federal government has fulfilled its responsibility by helping the drought hit people of Tharparkar.

He termed the drought in Tharparkar as a result of the negligence of the Sindh government adding that the elected members of the area from PPP were absent when the people were facing drought. The efforts of the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif provided relief to drought hit people who are receiving rations and cash assistance, he added.

Mumtaz Bhutto recalled that when he on behalf of Sindh Government had established Thar and Nara Development Authority in 1973 which was
thrown into cold storage by subsequent governments. There could be no drought or water shortage in Tharparkar if the said authority was
allowed to work, he added.

He asked the Sindh Chief Minister first he should control the corruption
and lawlessness in the province.

Commenting on the threats to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Mumtaz Bhutto
said that it should be noticed and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also take
care and make himself able to face such situation.

About negotiations between the Government and Taliban, he suggested to
wait for the outcome. About expected coalition between PPP and MQM, he alleged that both the parties are responsible in promoting corruption and lawlessness in Sindh.

Responding to a question about merging of Sindh National Front in Pakistan Muslim League (N), he said that it was the right decision, "however due to violation of the written agreement we have dissociated from the posts of
PML (N)".

Among others, Engineer Ayoub Shar, Muhammad Hanif Siddiqui and Pariyal Bughio were also present on the occasion.
