A 53-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle and killed while crossing the street to line up for Hall H on Tuesday. Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment has issued a joint statement regarding the death of a 53-year-oldTwilight fan, identified as Gisella G., who was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street to line up for admission into Hall H at San Diego's Comic-Con.

"Lionsgate, Summit and the entire Twilight community are saddened by the death of a Comic-Con fan today due to a traffic accident leading up to this year's convention in San Diego. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the victim's family and friends."

"She will be respectfully remembered this Thursday in Hall H."

The victim was apparently crossing the street against the red light in order to keep her place in line when she was struck by a car. Although Gisella noticed the vehicle was not slowing down, she tripped on her way to safety, which ultimately resulted in her death.

It's not uncommon for fans to stand in line for days just to get into to the San Diego Convention Center and capture a glimpse of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene & Co., and who can blame them.
