KARACHI: A blast on a bus stand near Hub Chowki has resulted in one casualty and 22 injured.  Sources have reported the condition of 3 to be critical. The individual, reported to be dead, succumbed to his injuries.

According to sources, a SUPARCO (Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission) bus was targeted. According to SSP Aamir Faruqi, the blast occurred at a bus-station near Hub Chowki. He further added that severe damage was done to the SUPARCO bus in the incident and it resulted in several injuries.

A chaos was seen amid the blast with people running for their lives. Reports have indicated that Police and Rangers have reached the spot in order to control the situation.

According to sources, a bomb was planted in a motor cycle which was parked nearby the bus station. Reports have indicated that 2 to 3 kilograms of explosive material was used to carry out the attack. DIG West Akram Naeem has added that the bomb was remote controlled.

All the injured have been transferred to different hospitals, the critically injured have been transferred to Civil Hospital.
