The passengers of the disrupted flight had to wait for quiet some time before an Air India A-320 relief plane was sent to Pakistan to safely transport the passengers to their destination. The plane took off from Nawabshah at around 3:30 pm and reached its destination at around 5:30 pm (PST).

A team of engineers were also sent from New Delhi in order to inspect and repair the plane making the emergency landing. Technical experts from Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) also assisted the Indian engineers during the repair work.

Defence secretary Nargis Sethi had instructed Civil Aviation Authority chief Nadeem Khan Yousufzai to provide all possible facilities and assistance to the crew members and the passengers of the Air India aircraft at Nawabshah.

Earlier, the Air India plane carrying 122 passengers was flying from Abu Dhabi to New Delhi when its pilot asked for an emergency landing at the Nawabshah airport 3:37 am. According to the pilot, the emergency light showed a problem with the hydraulic system, which when inspected by the engineers, was not a major cause of concern as they reported that they did not detect any hydraulic failure.
