During a press conference held in Islamabad, Imran Khan said that the failure of Pakistan turning into an Islamic welfare state will be a deceptive blow for all the Muslims inhabiting India, as Pakistan was formed on the very basis of becoming an Islamic welfare state.

Furthermore, Khan said that prior to the Muslim world, there was no notion of welfare states in Europe and that they had borrowed this concept from the Muslim world.

He stated, “They formed all the Scandinavian states based on this concept. They call it Omar’s law there. We need to bring our culture back to our own land.”

Whilst commenting on the drone strike issue, Khan said that he was glad to having seen former US president, Jimmy Carter denunciation on the drone attacks, “Carter openly criticized [US President Barack] Obama’s drone campaign and termed it as assassination. He said that it was not only a violation of international laws but also humanitarian laws.”

“We have seen the Pakistani parliament’s resolution coming into place against drones, it is accepted worldwide that the drone campaign is wrong and the public support for it is on a downward spiral.”
