According to a Motorway police official, the accident occurred on service road along the Super Highway.

The official said that the Suzuki pick-up driver negotiated a u-turn on service road which caused the accident as the dumper truck's driver made an unsuccessful bid to save the vehicle occupants.

The Edhi sources identified the dead as Nawab Haider son of Mohammed Hussain 39, Pervaiz Ahmed son of Zaibat Khan 36, Rashid 35, Sufian 40 while the fifth deceased and two injured remained unidentified.

The bodies of four were shifted to Jinnah Hospital while Rashid and the injured were moved to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital.

The victims onboard the ill-fated Suzuki pick-up were all vegetable dealers, an official of Motorway police added.
